The grande dame of all NOLA wedding venues, Race and Religious, was the amazing backdrop for one of the sweetest weddings I've ever witnessed. Jenn & Josh met in high school in Tennessee, and even went to prom together. They were each other's first kiss! Then, as it often does, life happens. The couple moved on, went to college, and eventually parted ways. But fate often gets her way....a simple "Happy Birthday" message on Facebook many years later brought this sweet couple back together. With family all over the southeastern US, the couple chose NOLA as the perfect place for their destination wedding. The couple fell in love with Race and Religious and knew they had to celebrate their day in the elegant, vintage charm that is R + R! When I first met with the couple, they shared with me their vision for a lighted "Nola Love" sign, similar to the "Philadelphia Love" emblem , to be a centerpiece for their day. The made it happen, and the custom made sign was a hit! Instead of signing a traditional guest book, friends and family were asked to sign a chalkboard embellished globe, which will serve as a keepsake for the couple. Guests were treated to some outstanding cajun cuisine by Pigeon Caterers, which included passed horderves and a meal of New Orleans favorites. And of course, no NOLA wedding is complete without some locally brewed IPA and creamy pralines! And let's not forget the cake... Baking on the Bayou always provides a spectacular and delicious centerpiece. The beautiful silver leafed, four tied confection alternated flavors, from strawberry filled to traditional New Orleans Praline filled. The praline filling is absolutely to die for! Jenn, Josh, and their guests danced the night away and left among a sea of sparklers and chants from their friends and family! Truly the best day ever!!!
